Editorial standards

We say what we know, and we say what we don’t

We cover the people, places and everyday questions that make up life in Royal Leamington Spa. Stories are checked before publication, and drafts or unconfirmed details are marked as such. Demo content is clearly labelled and never presented as a real business, event or local fact.

Legal pages, including terms, privacy and listing policies, are currently in draft and will be finalised before launch. Corrections are welcome through our contact page.

Contributor workflows

One account, clear review at every step

01

Register and verify

Create one account with email verification and password reset. The same account writes articles, adds or claims businesses, submits events and saves favourites.

02

Draft and preview

Prepare articles, listings or events as drafts, preview them before sending, and track submission status with editorial feedback at each stage.

03

Review and publish

Editors review submissions, request changes, approve, schedule and publish. Ownership permissions are enforced so only verified owners edit a claimed profile.

04

Stay live while editing

Approved listings remain live while later edits await review, so readers always see accurate information without interruption.

Launch and integrations

What the site needs before it goes live

The site connects articles, businesses, streets, places and events, with SEO metadata, optimised images, spam protection and secure uploads built in. Required integrations include an email service for verification and newsletter signup, a mapping provider for the Town Centre street map, and a payment provider for paid listing features.

Before launch, the owner must confirm the editorial team, supply the contact email, complete the draft legal pages, and load verified listing and event information. Uploads are scanned and stored securely, and every image is compressed for mobile-first performance.
